XBOX SCORPIO Console Details will be Released at Microsoft E3 Conference

The Microsoft 2017 E3 press conference is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 11 at 2 p.m. PDT / 5 p.m. EDT, which is 10 p.m. BST for those in the U.K. While I am sure there will be many great game announcements coming for the Xbox and PC, the largest news by far will be for the Xbox Scorpio. We believe the details of this console will be released during the conference, said by some to be the 'most powerful gaming console ever released '.

That's taken with a pinch of salt, really. We've heard these type of claims before. More exciting perhaps than the news of this console will be the games that will be released for it. The only real concern we have is whether our current television sets are equipped to handle the performance of this beast. Apparently, we may need a 4K display just to be able to view games at their best quality.

According to the specs of the proposed Xbox Scorpio, even the latest PS Pro with its boost mode might be surpassed. There will definitely need to be some explaining at the conference, but Microsoft's Andrew Goossen already filled us in slightly:

We’re going to be the ones that ensure that your games run as fast as they can [and] the best that they possibly can. There will be some cases where we have to dial down some of those attributes... in some games we potentially have to dial down the number of [compute units], for example, to maintain compatibility with that title. But again these are all things that Microsoft does, we’ve always done, that’s true of all 360 titles on Xbox One. We just make sure it runs the best it possibly can on Scorpio and we’re very excited that Scorpio really will be the best place to run all your Xbox content.

We will be eagerly waiting for the E3 Conference and will give some feedback as soon as the details are announced.
