Mortal Instruments : City Of Bones

Lecura here,

So I covered season 1 of Shadowhunters now I’m reviewing the movie Mortal Instruments – City of Bones.

So firstly let’s start off with the characters and the actors just to refresh your memory :

We have Jamie Campbell Bower who plays Jace Wayland ( Twilight, Sweeney Todd, Camelot ), Lilly Collins who plays Clary Fray ( Mirror Mirror, Abduction ), Robert Sheehan who plays Simon Lewis ( Misfits, Moonwalker ), Keven Zegers who plays Alec Lightwood ( Titianic: blood and steel, Gossip girl ), Jemima East who plays Isabelle Lightwood ( Maison Close ) and Jonathan Ryhs Meyers who plays Valentine Morgenstern ( Bend like Beckham, Dracula, The Tudors ). I could go on with the characters but we will be here all night, so the let’s get on with this review before I put you to sleep if I haven’t already.

The story begins with of course Clary Fray (Lilly Collins) the first scene is her talking on the phone with her best friend Simon Lewis (Robert Sheehan) about where they were going and what they’d be doing without Clary's mother finding out. As Clary talks to Simon over the phone she starts doodling.

Clay’s mother notices and throws out the drawing so Clary doesn’t see it again. Clary’s mother had erased some of her daughter’s memories but slowly they are starting to come back hence the doodling or as I see it drawing. Little does Clary know the second she walks out her apartment everything will change.

This is where the story starts to take shape and gets interesting.

Clary starts to see people that no one else can. The question is are they people or are they something else? The one thing Clary needs to figure out is why is she the only one?

In order for her to find out what’s going with her she must face her demons, and of course the people she is seeing.

Clary’s mother is kidnapped so the only people who can help are the people no one else can see, but what clary doesn’t know is these things human or supernatural beings they can show themselves to mundane’s if they want to. So Is Clary one of them and if she is will she want to become them???

Find out what happened to clary and find out what she decide to do and see if her mother is found or lost forever. Will her life be the same ever again?

Check out Mortal Instruments – City of Bones on Netflix or any other paid sources.

The movie pretty much stuck to a majority of the book version of Mortal Instruments: City of Bones written by Cassandra Claire. I loved the movie and of course Jamie Campbell Bower who wouldn’t, talk about gorgeous.

The movie brought the book to life and drew you in to the storyline. I would recommend the movie if your into all things supernatural. I was disappointed when I found out there wasn’t going to anymore movies but I felt a little better when I heard the tv series Shadowhunters was being made instead. It would have been great if they kept majority of the same actors for the tv show but sometimes we can’t always get what we want.

So watch the movie Mortal Instruments - City of Bones, make up your own mind and maybe check out the tv series Shadowhunters.

Before I go please don’t forget to check out the book series, you can grab your copies from all book stores worldwide or from now so go out and buy yourself a copy, you won’t regret it.

Enjoy Mundanes

Till next time :)
